It’s that time of the year again and Santa’s in trouble! Now the Wizard and Santa go way back – they’re old friends! There is a rumor that our own Wizard used to be a special admirer of Mrs. Clause, but that’s a story for another time and honestly he doesn’t like to talk about it. Truth be told, we think he was a little miffed when Santa came along but there are no hard feelings and the two have been known to share an eggnog or two on occasion! The truth is, that our Wizard absolutely adores those flying reindeer of Santa’s. Whether it’s because they are so magically unique or just because he likes animals, they always manage to leave a few pounds heavier than before after filling up with only the best carrots and other forms of vegetation that the Wizard can conjure up. But Santa’s reindeer needing to go on a diet is the least of jolly old Saint Nick’s worries this year.
As some of you may or may not remember, last year Santa needed name tags for all of his elves because he couldn’t keep all of their names straight. Well during the off season, things get a bit lax – sometimes the elves even wear jeans! As you can imagine, wearing a name tag isn’t exactly a top priority on their morning checklists and when you combine that with enjoying a few too many hard cider’s at their annual holiday gathering. It’s safe to say that no one really knows what became of their name tags! Blitzen might know – he is after all one of the more mischievous reindeers on Santa’s team, but he’s not saying anything.
Well as you can imagine, the elves have only grown in number since last year and Santa being very very old is still having a hard time getting all of their names right and really doesn’t want to risk offending any of them. They’re very touchy creatures after all and a worker elf strike is the last thing Santa needs! The good news is that unlike last year, we’ve at least gotten plenty of advance notice! Last year we were all rushing around at the last minute right before Christmas trying to get hundreds and hundreds of custom name tags done for Santa’s helpers. As much as we all love it when Santa Clause comes to town, we really love knowing in advance so we can prepare.
